DMX Core Connect

A small companion app for giving a DMX Core temporary internet access when it is installed on a network without one (for example, to run software or Host OS updates). Run it on a computer that is on the same network as the DMX Core and has internet access (such as a laptop on Wi-Fi), then activate the passthrough from the DMX Core web page under Utilities → Internet Passthrough. It updates itself automatically.

How to use it

  1. Connect the computer to the same network as the DMX Core (usually by Ethernet).
  2. Make sure the computer also has internet access (for example, Wi-Fi).
  3. Install and run DMX Core Connect.
  4. On the DMX Core web page, open Utilities → Internet Passthrough, pick this computer, and activate.
  5. When you are done, deactivate it — or just close the app, and the DMX Core reverts on its own after a few minutes.
Advanced: use a standard SOCKS5 proxy instead

The DMX Core routes through any standard SOCKS5 proxy, so DMX Core Connect is optional. For example, with gost (free): run gost -L socks5://:1080 on the computer, then enter that computer's IP address and port 1080 manually on the Internet Passthrough page. On Windows, security software may block third-party proxy tools — DMX Core Connect is signed and is the recommended choice there.
